What is Standd?

Standd is an AI powered search for lawyers to help them find exact paragraphs, sentences, citations or contextual information from their prior work.

Do I have to change where my documents are stored to use Standd?

No. We do not physically store your documents in our system. We integrate to your firm’s current system of record so that nothing about how you store your information has to change for you to use Standd, today.

What integrations do you support?

Currently we have integrations with Microsoft OneDrive/Sharepoint, Dropbox and Google Drive live today - with more systems added regularly. How do you train your models?

Standd uses a mix of extraction focused models and LLMs (large language models) to interpret natural language inputs, extract key details and generate creative analysis visualizations and attribution to help you organize your information. Since we deploy our models in a truly protected and isolated environment per organization - we weight your inputs and selections to train our models to learn your specific preferences and patterns. To supplement additional content training, we leverage publicly available training sets sourced and validated through reputable organizations like HuggingFace to continue improving our ability to digest and interpret a diverse range of file types and language.

How does Standd use AI?

When you input a search request or general question into Standd we leverage a series of intelligent models to help “understand” the question, find the best matches from the documents and paragraphs within the documents themselves and return results listed in order of relevancy as well as a summarized analysis of the results.

What if the AI is wrong?

Utilizing AI often comes with fair-warning limitations such as it’s known habit of “hallucinating” and creating content that does not exist, or skewing general prompts to reflect the biases founded in society — since that is how it was trained. For our product, we focus the future learning and training of the models to prioritize you and your firm’s work so that we reflect only the information our models can see - which is the information found in your documents.

How are you different than just searching in my current systems?

There are a few differences that you’ll see and feel from the first time you run a search with Standd. First, we work off of natural language inquiries - meaning you don’t have to type a formal search string or futz with filters. You will ask a question in our search box just as you would a teammate or colleague. Next, we not only return a list of most relevant documents that match your inquiry, but we also the best paragraphs from those documents. We then use AI to summarize the information from your search to give you more contextual insight into your documents. Last but not least - we use in-app tracking to continually improve based on you, individually. So we not only learn how you, personally, ask questions of your documents - we learn what kind of information you typically use the most so that we can improve our rankings for future searches.
